About This Product

Enhanced sound quality
At the heart of the CD5005 is a top quality Cirrus Logic CS4398 DAC. Respected for its high resolution sound, it's coupled to Marantz's own HDAM SA2 output buffer for reduced noise levels and a highly detailed, accurate sound quality. The CD5005 also features a new transport mechanism that employs customised components for enhanced performance and reliability.

Fully equipped and pitch control
As well as its first-rate sound quality, the Marantz CD5005 also includes a broad range of features. Pitch control is an unusual feature but ideal for dance students or music scholars. Both optical and coaxial digital outputs are provided, ensuring you can connect to a wide range of digital recorders/amps or, in the future, a better quality DAC. Rounding off this impressive CD player is a headphone output with dedicated volume control and remote control.

High quality finish
Unlike some of its competitors, the Marantz CD5005 features a full metal chassis that includes a profiled metal front panel. When combined with the anti-resonance feet, it gives the CD5005 excellent resistance to mechanical and electrical interference, helping to reduce distortion on playback.

For a budget CD player that neither looks nor performs like one, the Marantz CD5005 is on another plain.

  • Once again thanks for your help. I first visited Bartletts in 1993 and bought the Audiolab 8000a to equalise and compete with whatever the neighbours were playing at the time through the very thin walls of a Victorian Mansion Block. My Quad at the time although could musically could not compete. I had bought the Quad in 1984 at a place in Camden by Mornington Crescent, although I felt that I bought what" that particular shop "wanted to sell me rather than what I wanted.

  • I would just like to thank the Bartlett's team for pulling out all the stops when an order failed to materialise through no fault of their own. Terrific service and would certainly shop with Bartlett's again.

  • If I could give Bartlett's 10 stars I would....Quite superb service (a special mention for Simon here) - Buy from this supplier with complete confidence.
