KEF LS50 META
The LS50 Meta speakers are the first speakers engineered with Metamaterial, breaking new ground in speaker design. Jointly developed with Acoustic Metamaterials Group, the Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) uses specially developed structures that create new properties from existing materials that are not found in naturally occurring substances. MAT features a highly complex maze structure, allowing each of the channels to absorb a specific frequency. With all the channels together, MAT creates an acoustic black hole, absorbing 99% of unwanted resonant frequencies, providing a purer, natural performance without distortion.
The LS50 Meta speakers use a Uni-Q tweeter, positioned in the centre of the main driver for optimum timing. The 12th generation Uni-Q driver delivers point source detailed and accurate sound, dispersed evenly throughout the room. Enjoy your music from any seat and always be in the sweet spot. The midrange driver features a new precisely shaped decoupler and motor system designed to reduce high-frequency distortion. This results in a sound that is more transparent and life-like than the previous LS50. The bass performance exceeds expectations from the compact speaker with deep, articulate bass.
The rear port design also contributes to the clarity of the performance, with Computational Fluid Dynamics offsetting the port to prevent midrange colouration. The design enhances the detail and depth on offer from the LS50 Meta. The curved front helps radiate sound across the baffle without interference for a smooth sound reproduction. The LS50 Meta cabinet is extremely rigid for the best performance, with cross bracing to prevent vibrations.
The LS50 Meta retain the same design of the LS50 speakers, with the low-diffraction baffle and centrally aligned Uni-Q driver. On the underneath of each speaker, a thread insert is fitted, allowing you to secure the LS50 Meta to the new KEF S2 stands, for the best performance from the speakers. The LS50 Meta speakers are available in four different finishes, all silk matte, with black, white, grey and royal blue options.
Once again thanks for your help. I first visited Bartletts in 1993 and bought the Audiolab 8000a to equalise and compete with whatever the neighbours were playing at the time through the very thin walls of a Victorian Mansion Block. My Quad at the time although could musically could not compete. I had bought the Quad in 1984 at a place in Camden by Mornington Crescent, although I felt that I bought what" that particular shop "wanted to sell me rather than what I wanted.
Firstly delivery was estimated at 7-11 days - it was actually delivered by courier the next day (Free). Item was an excellent price and although it was advertised as used - it was absolutely mint. This is what internet buying should be like - well done all at Bartletts!
If I could give Bartlett's 10 stars I would....Quite superb service (a special mention for Simon here) - Buy from this supplier with complete confidence.
