Cyrus 6 Dac QXR
A high quality and scalable design provides an impressive 88 Watts per channel, and includes six analogue inputs which you can individually name from a list of options in the set up wizard. Also included is a great headphone facility and twin speaker output for bi-wiring.
The 6 DAC QXR delivers surprising audio performance and value because it is based on the advanced preamplifier circuitry from the DAC XP Signature; benefiting from a ‘trickle down’ of our most advanced technology.
The bi-wire output of the 8₂ DAC gives a full 88 Watts into 6 ohms. The power supply is a high current design that uses two transformers to completely separate the digital control stages from the sensitive audio signals.
The 8₂ DAC features a high performance 24/192 DAC with optical and coaxial inputs and a driver less USB connection for plug and play connectivity to a PC or laptop.
Six analogue inputs, a high quality headphone amplifier, Zone 2 and pre amplifier outputs give the 8₂ DAC flexibility for connecting a wide variety of audio devices. There is also a PSX-R port on the 8₂ DAC allowing connectivity of the instant upgrade off-board power supply.
The microprocessor controlled operating system in the 8₂ DAC allows extensive programming of many functions within the unit. Input naming, differing display readouts and input volume matching across all sources are just some of the possibilities.

The QXR card upgrade is the most significant improvement to Cyrus amplifiers in recent years. Bringing a world of the highest-resolution digital inputs to products up to a decade old.
QXR works with numerous Cyrus products, not only improving the sonic performance through the addition of a 32bit/768k DAC and all-new asynchronous USB bridge but also substantially improving the performance of the headphone amplifier section.
The new QXR card is capable of processing PCM audio to 768k at a 32bit depth and ‘Native’ DSD 512, through the USB input. The high-specification ESS DAC uses asynchronous upsampling to deliver a sublime audio signal regardless of source. Even via the lower resolution digital S/PDIF and Toslink interfaces, incoming signals are ‘reclocked’ to substantially reduce noisy ‘jitter’ and deliver a refined, cleaner audio signal to the pre-amplifier stages of the upgraded product.
The improved headphone amplifier, included within the upgrade, reduces the noise floor, providing a much improved dynamic range. Capable of outputting 138mW per channel into 16ohm loads, it can comfortably drive headphones with impedances of up to 64ohm.
COMPATIBLE FORMATS AND RESOLUTIONS
PCM audio to 768k at a 32bit depth
DSD native 512
The bi-wire output of the 6 DAC gives a full 57 Watts into 6 ohms. The power supply is a high current design that uses two transformers to completely separate the digital control stages from the sensitive audio signals – an approach usually reserved for pre/power combination amplifiers.
Once again thanks for your help. I first visited Bartletts in 1993 and bought the Audiolab 8000a to equalise and compete with whatever the neighbours were playing at the time through the very thin walls of a Victorian Mansion Block. My Quad at the time although could musically could not compete. I had bought the Quad in 1984 at a place in Camden by Mornington Crescent, although I felt that I bought what" that particular shop "wanted to sell me rather than what I wanted.
I would just like to thank the Bartlett's team for pulling out all the stops when an order failed to materialise through no fault of their own. Terrific service and would certainly shop with Bartlett's again.
If I could give Bartlett's 10 stars I would....Quite superb service (a special mention for Simon here) - Buy from this supplier with complete confidence.
